How do we
ARRANGE FOR VISITS?
Pet care Visits are
by-reservation Visits for dogs & cats & other fuzzy critters at their own home. We
will plan an orientation meeting to establish before any visits begin.
This entails going over your pets routines in their own home and allow your pets
some time to be comfortable with their new vistor. Once we have established, as
other future needs arise you may contact me by phone or email. Just let me
know your plans as soon as you know them, to confirm that I have availability to
accommodate the visit requests.
I no longer do visits for dogs while you're gone away on vaca~
I had provided services for dog vacation sit visits for the first 6 1/2 yrs
since 2001.
My availability has changed and now......
I now focus on catering to:

vacation or getaways~ this includes house "checking"

Winter (Snow!)
"Every mile is
two in winter" ~George Herbert
Winter weather time of year can put a twist on
Pet Visiting and other daily events in general.
It's pretty much a given that we'll have snow in ME & NH anytime between Dec - April each year -- it just varies how
often or how much.
Bonnie needs to be able to park her car off the street to be able to enter your home and care for your pets.
We don't want to compromise your pets care by not having RELIABLE snow removal arrangements made ahead of time especially if you're going to be away
from your home, and if we get a lot of snow!
You will be charged for the base price of your Visit for any unsuccessful attempts made to scheduled
Visits
(due to snow that makes it unable to realistically get into your driveway and easily park at your home).
A bit of snow is no big deal. We're talking about snow that makes it unable to
park a car in a driveway, especially considering after town plows go by and
create a snow pile; or, for another example, unable to get into a gate to
your home that is barricaded by snow.

What
INSPIRED you
to start PET VISITING?
I have always had a strong interest in the
welfare of animals and had always tried to figure out what I could best do on a
daily basis involving and allowing me to be with pets. Pet Visiting was
the answer. I am 38 and have a Bachelors degree in Management. Prior to doing
pet visiting, I assisted in the operations of other businesses and have
been commended on my customer service, efficiency and attention to detail. I decided it
was time to put my experiences to work at what I truly have a "passion" for. I
used to feel torn that I
couldn't be with our (now 14) pets (our family wasn't as large the 1st few yrs I
started doing pet visiting -- it has grown!) and had to make alternative arrangements for
them. I figured other people may be in similar situations... and again, pet
visiting was the answer...allowing me to do what I love and do best...care for
pets.
My husband, Glen, and I have
supported & volunteered at CVHS
of Dover doing events, walking the dogs when we can & providing foster care within our own home. In the past, we regularly visited nursing homes to spread the benefits of
pet/human bonds and relationships.

What about
INSURANCE coverage?
I realize that people are entrusting their pets as well as their home to me,
hiring me as their pet sitter, and therefore take it very seriously.
Bonnie's
Pet Sitting is an LLC (Limited Liability Company) registered with the
state of Maine, and is also insured by Pet Sitters Associates (PSA) LLC.
You can find the insurance website at
www.petsitllc.com for more information. I have
additionally insured my husband, Glen, for when he accompanies me on
weekends or evenings, and for the rare occurrence that I can't make it to a
visit. I also have PSA's Special Personal Property of Others endorsement, which is broader than most bonds. Bonds are usually for
pet sitters that have employees, to cover potential dishonest acts. I have no
employees, as I want to stay small and individually personalized with my
clients. But the Special endorsements also provides for customer's property in
my care, custody or control. The section of questions and answers under "What
are the special features of this program" discusses this topic on the
website.

What about
KEYS?
I will be happy to hold keys
for future visits
They will be held by a number tag system
PLEASE BE SURE TO TRY KEY(S) PRIOR
to our Orientation meeting to be sure they work properly in advance
If you have 2 locks on
a door, I need a key for both locks even if you don't typically lock one of them
I also keep the key on an arm coil so it's
always on my person during a visit, to avoid losing a key, locking myself out or any other mishap
that could potentially happen.
